Powering the Tri-State area and beyond
Offshore wind energy is poised to become a major source of affordable, renewable power for New York and New Jersey. New York is well on the way to developing at least 9,000 megawatts of offshore wind energy by 2035, enough to power up to 6 million homes, and New Jersey has established an ambitious goal of generating 11,000 megawatts of electricity from offshore wind energy by 2040 as part of the State’s Energy Master Plan to transition to 100 percent clean energy by 2035.
With New York and New Jersey authorizing several large-scale offshore wind farm projects, the need to assist in the construction and later in servicing those wind turbines for decades to come offers significant opportunities for diverse companies and workforces in the Tri-State area.
